No other country in the world is associated more with pyramids than Egypt. In Egypt you can find more than 100 pyramids. A total of around 8 can be dated back to ancient times.
You will be picked up by our modern, air conditioned vehicle with tourism licence at around 3:00 a.m. at your hotel. The drive to Cairo will take us around 5 1/2 hours. TIPP: Make sure to order a breakfast packet at your hotel reception one day before your trip.
After arrival in Cairo you will met your personal guide for the day. A professional and licenced English speaking guide who will accompany you through the day with all facts, figures and myths about the pyramids.
Our first stop will be at the Giza Plateau. Take a walk around the 3 main pyramids of the area and of course the most famous one – the Cheops Pyramid – which is the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. For sure we will not miss to visit the Valley Temple with the not less famous Sphinx.
In our way to our second visit we will have a rest with a traditional Egyptian lunch in a local garden restaurant. Lunch will be served as a menu including a small table BBQ, rice, vegetables and fresh baked typical Egyptian bread.
After our rest we will continue our way to the necropolis of Saqqara. Saqqara is less frequented by tourists but that doesn’t mean it is less interesting. In Saqqara you will have the chance to visit the Pyramid of Titi from the inside (without purchasing an extra ticket). The inscriptions are truly amazing. You will also visit the tombs around and of course the Step Pyramid or Djoser Pyramid – which is the first pyramid build in Egypt. The whole Saqqara area is also a protected area by the UNESCO World Heritage.
Last but not least impressive is the area of Dahshur. Even less frequented by tourists than Saqqara. You will visit 2 of the 3 pyramids. The Black Pyramid (also known as Bent Pyramid) – can be seen just from a distance as the area is a military area and a closer look is not allowed. The Red Pyramid is the first “real” pyramid in Egypt and has the second largest ground area. It is possible to visit the Red Pyramid from the inside including the burial chamber (without purchasing an extra ticket).
